Blue Brain Project / EPFL
The Blue Brain Project is an exciting research attempt to model the mammalian brain and to run electronic simulations on the IBM BlueGene series supercomputers. The project has been initiated by Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland and is being funded by IBM.
The Algotrek team has been working with the EPFL/BBP team on custom R&D and production software that will eventually be used in the digitization and modeling of neurons, which is the first basic step in the simulation process. We have been working with
them since Winter of 2006.
Its very exciting for us to have participated in this cutting edge project.
